Situated on level 2 of the Corner House Nottingham, Alto has recently undergone a full and extensive refurbishment turning it into a modern and sophisticated bar set right in the City Centre of Nottingham. Spread across one beautifully designed floor, the space has been divided into 4 stylish bar areas with a screened off VIP area. Complemented with a luxurious outdoor terrace fitted with lounging day beds and cosy blankets, the view of Nottingham’s city skyline becomes the ultimate background for socialising.
Guildford School of Art is renowned for its performing arts and technical courses, which are the top choice for students with an eye on progressing their career in the direction of London’s West End Theatre land. As a consequence Inspired Audio are proud to be the audio supplier to the on campus Ivy Theatre. The multi-purpose venue currently has a combination of Optima 5 sub-compact array enclosures which are generally used in left, right and centre hangs, with Axis AX8 cabinets used for infill applications. Low end is catered for with a pair of ground stacked SB118 enclosures.
Formerly the Saltwater, the new Alto bar was to have a complete refurbishment and upgrade to a high standard premier venue in the Cornerhouse. Co-Owned by World Champion Boxer Carl Frotch MBE, Marc Brough and design consultant John Glover who also designed the scheme giving a whole new ambiance with 6 different spaces within the venue. All the spaces required different sound and light applications to compliment the design. Our brief was to ensure that this was achieved.
The venue had 6 main areas. There are 4 areas inside ,VIP Bar, Dancefloor, Main Bar and Lower Bar and 2 areas outside, Bar & pagoda and general seating balcony. The sound system was split into 6 zones to give the ability to regulate the volume in each area. The bar areas had quantities of 8” mid/high boxes (with the outdoor area having IP rated versions) complimented with DR115″ Bass units. The main dancefloor had more firepower fitted with Inspired Audio IQ12’s for mid top with DR118 18” Sub bass. All powered by Inspired Audio eFlex Q5 System amplification giving a great performance with ease of operation. Inspired Audio was chosen as it delivers a premium pro audio performance at a sensible price. Designed and manufactured in Nottingham Inspired Audio was the perfect fit of premium product for a premium venue!
Co-Owner John Glover on the opening night was absolutely delighted and could not thank us enough for the end result. The quality of the sound, the quality of the product and the installation had exceeded expectations and certainly complimented the overall high standards required by the venue.
